In March 2020 Civic Pride Rossendale had stared to get the gardens that we maintain in Rawtenstall, Crawshawbooth and Waterfoot ready to show off all the spring bulbs we planted the previous autumn. Then, as we all know, everything ground to a halt and we were not able to look after our gardens for several months. The volunteers have worked hard since July, and in line with the Government restrictions, to recover the gardens from the weeds and litter. And we will carry on over the winter so that next year all our gardens will look extra special. We are purchasing and planting perennials now so that they will be more quickly established next year. Of course, we will also continue to weed, prune, tidy the leaves and plant bulbs.
