Magic for Smiles has shown how magic is a powerful transformative tool to provide psychological (or psychosocial) support to and therefore enhance the wellbeing of vulnerable children often traumatized by war, as seen in BBC Uncovers. We were established two years ago after three years pilot work in Lebanon and offer magic shows and workshops to organisations supporting refugees and other vulnerable children in Jordan, Turkey and Lebanon, some displaced in Syria, and have also recently seen the impact in the UK More Please! . Imagine one in 10 is a refugee in Turkey, 1 in 8 in Jordan and 1 in 4 in Lebanon and some make it to the UK to seek sanctuary.

We have received little funding and depend on donations. We know magic works and have seen it time and time again, in the UK as well, online as well as offline bringing so many emotional, social and cognitive benefits. Refugee Week in the UK is 14-20 June and MFS will be hosting and partnering with others in lots of events - hosting a magic show event linking refugee children in the Middle East and the UK, a quiz night and other treats.

We would be thrilled if you were able to donate to help bring smiles to these kids so often robbed of their childhood. A £10 donation helps make a child smile! As Cheltenham Welcomes Refugees in the UK recently said: We are hugely grateful that Jamie used the pandemic to organize virtual shows and bring joy to refugee children who have moved to the UK and are now fellow residents of Cheltenham. The children were hooked and we had a blast! The kids laughed and danced and were captivated by Jamies tricks.
