Story

Machu Picchu is one of the most iconic sights in South America, and the culmination of the magnificent Inca Trail trek through the Peruvian Andes. Our team are fundraising for VSA as they trek this breathtakingly beautiful route through valleys and high passes, scattered with fascinating Inca ruins from the 5th to the 14th of April 2019.

Trekking on Inca-paved paths and steps, the route takes you up through lush cloudforest to the demanding Dead Womans Pass (4200m). Continually climbing up or dropping down, the way is steep at times, and the altitude adds to the challenge. Team VSA will finally come to the Sun Gate, which overlooks Machu Picchu, where the first magical glimpse provides an unforgettable reward for their efforts.

By donating to VSA you are supporting the most vulnerable of people living in our communities across Aberdeen/Aberdeenshire. Every year we support thousands of local people and your support enables us to provide the best of care so that local people can live the best of lives.
