WARM HEARTS WINTER APPEAL - Age UK Herne Bay and Whitstable

The work of Age UK Herne Bay and Whitstable would simply not be possible without the generosity of the public. Each year thousands of supporters make one off or regular donations to support older people.

This Winter things may be particularly tough. With time spent away from loved ones and lots of uncertainty about the future, it may be especially difficult to keep our spirits up.

We want to reach as many local isolated or lonely older people as possible. On way we do this is through our Befriending and Community Services that provide, in many cases, a life-line for our vulnerable older people, providing some of the fundamentals of health and wellbeing, human interaction, friendship and activity.

Margaret, (Befriender), has been very supportive to my Aunt for several years. Her staunch commitment to ensuring she has, and continues to have, contact with her is very much appreciated. This support filters to our family as well knowing that contact is not only there but something my Aunt looks forward to.

My Aunt has always enjoyed Margarets company - been a much needed and appreciated constant throughout COVID restrictions and a change of living arrangements where Margaret phoned the care home weekly.
