Tracing its history back to Anglo Saxon times, mentioned in the Domesday book, Wellingham is a small rural Norfolk community.

While there is no precise date for the founding of St Andrew's Church, experts believe the nave was build by the Normans and the chancel added in the 13th Century.

The Victorians and others have repaired and 'improved' the little church and once again repairs are needed.

The chancel roof has been leaking for some time and sadly the wood under the roof is rotten. In order to repair the roof we will need to remove all the tiles and make good the beams and woodwork and then use the existing tiles to re-roof the chancel. When it's done hopefully no one will notice, but the building will once again be water tight and further damage avoided.
