Help us to purchase a project Land Cruiser to provide urgent support to our community partners, and aid the protection of elephants and their habitat.
Your donation will be doubled! With huge thanks to our generous Board Member, who is matching all donations to achieve the target!
Urgent assistance is required to help communities who border the Ngorongoro Crater, with safe and reliable transportation across wildlife habitat. While ensuring we can effectively monitor elephant movements and aid reforestation of the last remaining wildlife corridor. We have just received funding from the Elephant Crisis Fund, to advance wildlife corridor protection. With your support, a project vehicle will provide crucial logistical support and extend our reach. Thank you!
The Ngorongoro Conservation Area is a uniquely biodiverse habitat spanning 8,292km sq. Rich in minerals, it supports 30,000 animals and 40,000 people who share its natural resources. Some of Tanzanias largest elephants are inhabiting the Ngorongoro Crater, providing essential ecosystem services. They require vast movement areas to ensure genetic diversity for species survival. But the only remaining wildlife corridor providing connectivity from Ngorongoro is under threat due to pressures from local communities who depend on its natural resources.
Wild Survivors support the long-term protection of the Ngorongoro Ecosystem, with a focus on human-elephant coexistence and habitat restoration. We do this by supporting communities with beehive fences to deter elephants from crop-raiding. While monitoring corridor ecology and introducing alternative fuel solutions for the community, to prevent tree felling. As a small organisation, we have continued to be resourceful since our inception in 2016, by borrowing or sharing transportation with local partners. As the demand for beehive fences and corridor protection increases, it is absolutely critical that our field team can operate with a dedicated project vehicle.

The villages that border the Crater Forest are at an altitude of 1,800 metres and can only be accessed via sharp gradient inclines using off-road routes often entrenched in volcanic mud. A Land Cruiser is the only type of vehicle that can carry people and equipment up this steep, hilly terrain.
Support the conservation of wild habitat and the safety of neighbouring communities by donating to our emergency appeal. Thank you!
