Story
WORLDwrite has never been content merely to comment on the world, we have always been committed to changing it too. This year we're celebrating 25 years of making good on that commitment. We are the proud pioneers of exchange programmes from Hiroshima to the heart of the Amazon, we've pioneered Citizen TV, the Readathon, ViewsBox and a multitude of ways to make programmes with young people who have never picked up a camera before. It's been a great year too with more than 11 awards for our challenging film Women: a success story and some great shoots covering vital issues and videos which take the public, freedom, free speech and democracy seriously. We've invested in 4K cameras and a new edit suite, fixed the centre roof, installed a new gas boiler and added a loo! In short we've made magic happen on the tightest of budgets. All of this was possible, thanks to you, our loyal friends.
The year ahead is looking exciting too. We hope to raise major funds for a Democracy Roadshow but to start with, we need £25,000, just to keep our volunteer centre open. Whether you can help us with £25, £2500 or the £250,000 we could do with to move mountains, we'll be hugely grateful for your support and make every penny count.
Please dig deep and support WORLDwrite's 25th birthday with whatever you can muster.
