‘I feel as though I matter, as though I’m noticed again’
The Droitwich Spa Meeting Centre (DSMC) provides a place where people are supported to understand and adapt to living with dementia. The Centre cost raise £65,000 – £80,000.Learning to live with a dementia can be scary and confusing, for the person diagnosed and for their families. Our members get person-centred support through the changes dementia brings by our trained staff and volunteers: ‘It’s the best thing that’s happened for me in a very long time’.
Watch the video.Those with a mild or moderate dementia diagnosis can come to the centre three days a week, where they take part in activities that are especially designed around their interests.
Some of the activities like reminiscence, music & movement or animal therapy can play a significant role in helping members live well with dementia.To carry on providing the activities and support programme that we know enrich the lives of our members, we need your help to raise £2,100 to fund some really great experiences – keeping our members independent and living well!
Will you sponsor an activity session?£40 will fund a one-off activity for our members, such as a live music show!
£25 a month could fund a regular physical activity.£10 could fund arts & crafts materials.
£5 will go toward tea & biscuits.If you want to organise a fundraiser, we'd love to help you any way we can!!
