Story
Wadurs Community Pool supports 80,000 visits each year and our Swim School teaches 800 children and adults to swim each week. We work with partners such as Level Water a charity providing one-to-one swimming lessons for children with disabilities. We also offer weekly aqua-therapy sessions. Over the years, our facilities have become less suitable for the needs of our members and the wider community. With only 2 single cubicles, the male and female communal changing rooms are the only real provision for our 80,000 users a year.
The pool was built in 1993 as part of the Holmbush development and was campaigned for heavily by local community, some of which still use the pool today.
This project will extend the existing disabled changing rooms to provide a a fully inclusive and accredited changing facility for our users with additional needs.
