Story
At Bolingbroke Academy, our music curriculum centres around inclusivity where every pupil is provided with the best musical opportunities, whatever their background. Our Instrumental Lessons for All program is an example where every Year 7 student is given the chance to learn an instrument. To ensure that we are able to continue to provide this unique opportunity to our growing number of pupils, the music department needs to purchase additional instruments and equipment, and repair existing instruments. We would be very grateful for any donation you are able to make toward our music program. Money that is raised will go toward the following items:
- 20 new macs for the mac suite (our current macs are on their last legs as they are 8 years old) - £20,000
- Sheet music for ensembles, concerts, and instrumental lessons - £1,000
- Technical music equipment for performing and recording (leads, amps, microphones) - £1,000
- A new drum kit - £600
- A baritone horn (giving the opportunity for brass players to learn a new instrument in Year 7 lessons and beyond) - £500
- Annual instrumental repairs (we loan out over 100 instruments a year to pupils, with all Year 7s receiving their instruments for free) - £600
- Grand piano tuning - £1,000
- Free music tuition for less advantaged pupils (Finance should not be a barrier to musical education - we believe that children's musical ability should be fostered and developed regardless of economic background) - £3,000
- Continuing and expanding our Music Technician role (funding the continuation of this role for a gap-year alumnus from Bolingbroke, supporting with the admin and daily running of the Music department and all its trips and events, to continue the department to be able to give new and exciting opportunities to all Bolingbroke pupils) - £5,000
