Story
Many refugees are still arriving in Greece, and over 60,000 are estimated to be there at the moment, unable to move on due to border closures, and a painfully slow asylum application process. Many arrive having lost everything, and their only possessions with them- the clothes on their backs.
Many have been trapped in Greece for well over a year and have had to rebuild some sort of a life in terrible conditions in camps.
ASN Team UK has been helping refugees in Greece since 2015 by supporting provisions of essential aid, food, water, education, accommodation, medical supplies and hygiene items amongst many other necessary things.
We recently funded the purchase of 1150 pairs of underwear for distribution in the Souda camp in Chios.
We want to do the same again, but this time for the residents of a camp in Athens where some people have not had any new underwear for months. Imagine having to get by with just a couple of pairs of underwear day in, day out.
Eleonas refugee camp in Athens is currently home to over 2000 residents. It's here that we want to fund new underwear for roughly 1400 adults and 650 children. Working with The Unmentionables, our estimate for the cost is around £1,650.
Please be a part of something amazing and help us reach our goal of £1650 by donating the cost of a pair, or some pairs of underwear. It will be incredible if we can supply each resident of the camp with a new pair, and donating to buy 1 pair costs less than a coffee.
If you're a UK tax payer- please gift aid your donation to make it go even further.
Let's do this!
