The race is on to raise enough funds to light up Balerno village centre this Christmas with outdoor lights in the market square and Main Street.  A fantastic £1,000 has already been pledged by community and faith groups across the village.  We know Balerno community spirit is really strong, and we are now aiming to raise another £2,000 from local people  to help us switch the lights on this year. The lights will create a cheerful backdrop to all the  community events coming up this winter in Balerno. There'll be carol singing and concerts, the Christmas Farmers Market on the 10th December, as well as the Christmas Tree Festival,  Caring Christmas Trees collection at the market and lots more. All of these events help to raise funds for a wide range of charities by getting local people together.  Please help if you can!
