Story
*UPDATE* (See new photos below)
Since the tooth surgery Denny still has an abscess in his cheek which pus is draining from, this is due to a second rotten tooth, next to the original problem tooth. This operation will cost a further £2000, making the total for this appeal £5,000. After the operation we hope this will enable the hole to heal properly, and he can return to full health.
Denny was found fly-grazing, abandoned, and knee-deep in mud in a field by the police. He is emaciated, his hooves are in a terrible state, he’s riddled with worms and is suffering with a rotten tooth and infected sinuses. Denny is going to need a lot of treatment and care to get him back to full health.
Blue Cross has given Denny worming treatment and he has been prescribed antibiotics to clear up infection. Pus is weeping from the abscess on his face and it must be so sore. He will soon have an X-ray and will need surgery to remove a rotten tooth. Poor Denny also has sores all over his legs from where he has been standing for far too long in deep mud. Denny has a body score of just 1.5 on a scale that goes from 0 to 5, which classes him as emaciated. We have put him on a specialist feeding regime to introduce proper nutrition to his diet. Denny also needs castrating and will require around the clock monitoring after this procedure. We’ll be here for Denny for as long as he needs us and we’ll do everything we can to get him back to full health.
To get Denny back to full health it is going to cost us £3,000. Please help us meet these costs by donating today. Unfortunately horses who have suffered due to fly-grazing need help from Blue Cross all too often.
Denny is just one of the animals who desperately need our help day in day out. Your donations will be used to get Denny back to full health. Estimated cost to treat Denny is £3000 – any donations over and above the cost of treatment will go toward our work helping other sick and homeless pets.
Thank you.
