Story

In 2015, osteoarthritis was recorded as the main indication for surgery in 90% of hip replacement patients and 98% in knee replacement patients. These numbers are astonishing! One way we can decrease these statistics is with your help.

Our latest newsletter highlights how your donations have made an impact since we were last in contact with you. You have facilitated funding for a number of new research studies investigating the best ways to improve patient care, and also helped us to create important partnerships; prioritising unanswered questions about the effects of treatments on patients. Thank you for making this happen. Just think how much more we can achieve if you send us a donation today!

As well as sending you our annual spring newsletter, we also regularly update our Joint Action Latest News page on our website with your fundraising event stories.  You can read these at www.boa.ac.uk/joint-action-news. The stories are inspiring; the smallest of events can make a big difference – a birthday or anniversary celebration, a sporting event in your back garden or even our ‘Name the Teddy’ fundraising scheme. To find out more about these ideas and many more, call us now for a copy of our Fundraising Pack on 020 7406 1767.

However you choose to support us; just know that your support means a lot to us.

In the meantime, we hope you enjoy reading our latest newsletter.

Please consider giving today to help us make a difference to the future of Trauma and Orthopaedic research.

About the charity

Did you know there are over 20 million people in the UK living with a musculoskeletal condition? That’s about a third of the population. We help patients by raising funds for research to improve Orthopaedic treatment, restoring mobility and giving people back their freedom and independence.
