I will never forget The Brain & Spine Foundation logo, it was over every single information booklet we were given. My Father suffered a subarachnoid haemorrhage in July 2016 which was almost fatal. During such a distressing time, the Brain & Spine booklets provided my family with reassurance and allowed us to feel more informed. 

Unfortunately his condition began to deteriorate. My Mum turned to the Brain & Spine Foundation helpline and spoke to a lovely nurse on the helpline. She understood.

As a result of the phone call, my Mother took my Father back to hospital where he was admitted for surgery to drain excess fluid that had built up on his brain. The wait was scary for all of us, we didn’t know what to expect.

When my father came round from the surgery he was a new man. He could walk, talk and he knew where he was.
