Story
Learning that you or a child or family member has been diagnosed with any long term condition is always going to be devastating. When it's something that you've never heard of - Charcot-Marie-Tooth - and that the condition is incurable, and progressive adds to that distress.
Whilst CMT isn't life-threatening, or as severe as other similar conditions, it will still impact on all aspects of your life. From things like what shoes to wear, to having children - the impact is real and never ending. A member of staff with CMT went to an event recently, caught her toe on the lift and hit the floor in grand style. This is a familiar scenario to all with the condition - there was no way she could prevent herself from falling, with poor balance.
CMT United Kingdom are committed to supporting research wherever we can. It's not always medical research either, but practical things that we can do to improve strength, balance and stability.
Join our campaign today to help us bring an end to CMT.
