Story
An additional aspect to our genomics research is to look at the face shapes of people with epilepsy using 3D facial imaging cameras. From previous studies, we know that certain facial characteristics, although subtle, can indicate certain types of epilepsy.
With these new cameras and accompanying equipment, we will have the tools to combine 3D facial images with genetic information from large groups of people with epilepsy. This will give us further information on each type of epilepsy, enhance patient care through improved diagnosis and help us to gain further understanding in the genetic development of brain structures.
Donate today to help us purchase the 3D facial imaging cameras and equipment that we'll need to embark on this project. 3D facial imaging, combined with a genomics test, will bring people closer to an exact diagnosis and personalised treatment.
