Story
Michael Sobell Hospice opened its doors on the 14th February (Valentine's Day) 1977 and for 40 years has touched the lives of thousands of patients and their families in the local area.
Have you heard about our PAFS Team? Being able to talk to family members when a loved one is seriously ill is sometimes one of the hardest things to do. This is where the Michael Sobell Patient & Family Support (PAFS) team come in. The PAFS team offers advice and support; giving families the chance to come together and talk through any concerns, fears and anxieties. PAFS team member Sheree Malkin, explains, “Conversations may be difficult and patients often struggle with a lack of control. We acknowledge together that they may not be able to control the bigger picture. It’s about changing expectations and we help patients to understand what aspects of their lives they can still control. It’s a privilege to touch people’s lives at a most important time."
Please consider making a donation to PAFS and help mark our special 40th year.
