Story
In Africa, it is estimated that over 2 million women and girls suffer from fistula, an obstetric condition caused by prolonged, obstructed childbirth and poor maternal healthcare. In 2017, we have seen a record number of patients come through our doors and subsequently leave us restored, empowered and healthy.
This Christmas, FFF launch our first ever 12 Days of Christmas campaign, a campaign designed to provoke your thoughts, highlight the plight of each of our different projects, and invite you to get to know some of patients and staff a bit better!
For £1,000; you can pay for life changing fistula care. Many of our patients stay with us for extended periods of time (up to 8 or 9 months in some cases) and this amount pays for their surgery, as well as their rehabilitation, and helps us to reintegrate them back into their communities.
Just £200 can purchase a solar station helping a patient create her own income and sustainable future.
£50 will pay for a fistula patient’s education during their stay at our facilities. Many of these women and girls have no literacy or numeracy skills so this invaluable training can empower and change lives, and help our patients to create their own future.
For only £2, you can feed a woman in our care for a full day. We feed our patients 3 healthy and wholesome meals a day, designed to help them build their strength and provide them with the right nutrients
