Story
The Sorkin Center was established in honor of Jerry Sorkin, a former staff member at CEB, now Gartner. During his career, Jerry’s passion for nonprofit work and board service led him to develop a nonprofit board-training program for CEB staff members interested in board service. Jerry had an impact on many individual lives, along with a wide range of nonprofit organizations and leaders.
After his death in 2016, Jerry’s colleagues honored his legacy by extending his mentorship to a future generation of leaders through the Sorkin Center, where his training and passion for nonprofit boards will live on. CEB selected Compass as the home for the Sorkin Center.
The Sorkin Center will work in conjunction with Compass, matching business professionals onto nonprofit boards and providing a unique board training program to those professionals and their fellow board members. Trainings through the Sorkin Center will ensure board members understand their role in providing governance, strategic guidance, and resources to the nonprofit on whose board they sit.
