Story
Gables Farm Dogs & Cats Home has recently taken in Will, a very lovable and unlucky 5 year old Springer Spaniel.
He went running across a field loving life and returned to his owner not bearing weight on his leg. His owner took him to the Vet where it was discovered how bad the break was. His owner could not afford the cost of the surgery required or cope with the aftercare needed. That’s when we were contacted by the previous owner’s Vets as they did not want to put this lovely chap to sleep, just because he had broken his elbow.
Deputy Manager Ruth Rickard said: “I immediately said yes we would help, and just hoped our lovely supporters would help us to save his life and his leg too. If his leg is too badly damaged, and it is not repairable, we will have to amputate his leg. Most dogs can be very active and happy with only three legs. We just could not let this lovely dog die, with so much of his life ahead of him!”
It is estimated to cost the home £1500 to help this poor boy to receive all of the care and treatment needed. Once he is better we will find him a forever home where he can show off his best Meerkat impression in return for a tasty treat.
If Gables Farm is lucky enough to raise more money than what is needed, it will go towards the Veterinary fees for the other animals in our care.
