Story
‘I can’t go out by myself’…‘I’d be happy to do things in the community but I don’t know how’…’I want to see my friends in the evenings and at weekends’. These are just some of the feelings shared with us by people with learning disabilities.
Friendships boost our health and wellbeing. But when people with learning disabilities rely on the support of family or carers they have fewer opportunities to be independent, to meet people, and to build friendships.
At Grace Eyre, people with learning disabilities tell us they want ‘to live our lives in the way we want to, getting good support from kind and friendly people’. This Christmas, YOU can make that happen!
Show ‘I care’ by making a donation, no matter how small. We’ll put your gift to good use in 2018, helping people with learning disabilities to:
Lead healthy lives with rest, relaxation and laughter, by hosting lots of social activities such as sport, art and craft, drama, music, cooking and more!
Have strong and supported relationships, by hosting club nights, shared meals, day trips, and getting out and about together in the community!
To try new things, like traveling independently, moving out of home, starting a new job, or whatever people tell us THEY want to do!
This Christmas, you can make a real difference to the lives of people with learning disabilities, please take your chance to let them know ‘I Care’.
