Story
I’m due to start the first stage of my guide dog training very soon, and with early training costing £19,300, I need your support to get me through!
Whilst I’ve learnt lots so far, as you may have seen on This Morning, the next stage of my training will teach me to safely manoeuvre through obstacles, stop at kerbs, and walk down the centre of a pavement. These skills will be essential to help my future guide dog owner!
The cost to train me is high, but every little helps. Did you know:
- £10 could pay for me to get my eyes tested
- With just £15 I can get a strong lead
- To look like a traditional guide dog, I’d need a harness handle which costs £18
- Visiting the vet is sadly part of any dog’s routine, and £30 would cover that and ensure I stay healthy.
Every hour another person in the UK goes blind. When someone loses their sight, Guide Dogs is here to make sure they don’t lose their freedom as well.
This is why training guide dog puppies like me are vital to carrying out the Guide Dog mission - helping people with sight loss to live a full and rewarding life.
