Resilience is a program designed and delivered by Lapwing, a not for profit, education charity working across Suffolk.  Resilience offers individual programs for children to engage in during the summer period and beyond. These personalised, educational activities will enable children to gain confidence, rebuild their self-esteem and regain their trust in adults. Without these fundamental attributes children struggle to: learn, build healthy relationships with adults and their peers and, often turn to crime, anti-social behaviour and isolation at a time when support is most needed.    Lapwing have identified that the summer months are a crucial time in which to reach and support children facing these negative life experiences. From July to August there is no funding to support these children meaning they fall further behind. For children from disadvantaged backgrounds this can be even more exaggerated. Through these tailored, one to one sessions, children learn resilience and the ability to turn their lives around.    Lapwing are looking to raise funds to offer Resilience to 20 children from the local area and support our ongoing work with young people from schools in Suffolk.  We will be working with local schools to identify those who are particularly vulnerable and will most benefit from the Resilience program.    Due to the lack of statutory (Government funding) available during these crucial months we are looking to corporates and the public for donations, to help make this happen. Funding is urgently needed otherwise these children remain at risk. With the summer fast approaching now is the time for us to reach out and seek your support.
