Magpie Dance has a dynamic team of 6 fantastic volunteers who are taking part in The Big Half in 2018. They are raising funds so that Magpie Dance can continue their work as the UK’s leading dance charity working with people with learning disabilities. Since 1985, Magpie Dance have been running workshops and dance classes for children and adults. Participants have a range of learning disabilities and are aged eight +, with no upper age limit on taking part. Through dance, participants gain significant life, social and communication skills with measurable health and wellbeing benefits. Participants stage regular performances and national tours, many in prestigious performing arts venues. Ambitious and talented dancers are supported through professional progression pathways. Magpie Dance also deliver professional training for education, dance, health and business clients nationally, and work in partnership with the NHS to provide in-patient work for clients with dementia and a range of complex learning disabilities.
