Story
Parents, teachers and friends of Park Community School will be taking on a 25 mile walk along the Thames Path to raise funds to supply the library with more books and outdoor equipment for the different playground areas.
We wanted to do another event to inspire the children to get out and get active after last years successful half marathon.
We're a very passionate group of people who are dedicated and committed to supporting the school and making every effort to add to and enrich their learning environments.
Currently the library is in need of new books, be it fiction or non fiction. The PTFA put a huge amount of effort into getting the library up and running and filling the shelves with books and creating the jungle and woodland themes, chosen by the children, through the decor and furnishings which were paid for by the PTFA's fundraising efforts.
Last year we raised enough money to have installed a substantial wooden climbing frame with slide, bridges, tyre features and a separate climbing wall.
There are still 2 other outdoor areas that need improving and with the money raised we hope to be able to do something in both areas.
We strive to make a positive impact on the current pupils environment and their resources and hope that future pupils to the school will be able to benefit from all our efforts for years to come.
