Story

Wendy and Paul Young at Off The Fence work with the homeless, women at risk and vulnerable young people in Brighton and Hove.  They support hundreds of vulnerable people every week.  We are supporting their latest project which is a mobile sanitation unit for rough sleepers.  This will comprise of two vans containing showers, washing machines and a mobile pharmacy - bringing God's love to those who need it most in a practical way. (One of the vans is to be named after Emma Haward, who did so much for Off The Fence, and who so sadly died in October).

Yvrose and Pierre-Richard of Hope House Haiti now provide free education for over 1000 children who are among the poorest in the world.  Every child receives a meal during the school day which for many is the only food they get.  We are supporting Hope House's latest project: the farm.  This initiative is delivering training, jobs and economic growth to school leavers and the local community. Many resources are needed including tools, seeds and especially . . . a tractor!  A group from The Point will be visiting Hope House in February.

Samara's Aid is a local charity supporting displaced people and refugees in Syria and Iraq.  This is another charity that Emma Haward did so much to support. There are thousands of people living in camps this winter who desperately need our support - Samara's Aid will be sending another truck load of donated supplies in January.  We are looking for a practical response: please bring good quality or new clothing, nappies and teddies to the Panto or any Christmas services at The Point.
