An important source of support for our wonderful Butterfly reading classes for disadvantaged literacy needy children has been the English Express classes we give to grown-ups. These are so popular that we had to set up 6 extra classes, in classrooms round the corner from our Learning Store (at the Queen's Park Children’s Centre). Very successful they have been; very supportive of our children’s classes.
But….
The ceiling collapsed – and we had to close the classes. Over the 4 months it’s taking to repair the ceilings and re-open them, the loss to our income is hitting us: nearly £7k per month. That’s a loss, during our summer income dip period, of nearly £28k of much needed fund.
