Team Rubicon has an assessment team in Haiti, after Hurricane Matthew slammed into the country with winds reported at 145mph resulting in a huge loss of life and devastation to the country's infrastructure.
Team Rubicon is assessing the most urgent needs and working with local partners and wider response networks to support communities.
Will McNulty, arrived in Haiti on Thursday 6th October and said "I’m seeing massive destruction. Low lying areas near rivers were exceptionally vulnerable. I’ve seen a dozen washed out roads or bridges. Although I haven’t seen any fatalities the property damage alone is staggering. There’s a tremendous need for route clearance/debris management teams in outlying villages. Big concern about all the standing water with Zika, dengue, and malaria present so there is a big need for water and sanitation support.”
