Story

Dandie Dinmont enthusiasts have the opportunity to contribute to the cost of a statue that will be commissioned to commemorate Old Ginger,  "Founding Father" of the breed  born  at The Haining Selkirk, 4th June 1842 .

In an exciting new development, HM Queen Elizabeth's sculptor Sandy Stoddart has accepted the commission to create a bronze stantue of Old Ginger.  It is hoped that Mr Stoddart’s bronze statue of Old Ginger  will generate significant interest and help save this ancient breed with the literary name and remarkable history.

The statue, when completed, will stand proudly, at the site of the original Kennels within The Haining Estate.

The enthusasm for maintaining this link and contributing to The Haining Dandie Dinmont Fund has been overwhelming and we have created this site to facilitate global contributions.  Our thanks go out to Dandie Dinmont owners everywhere for your continued support. Thank you for all your support.
