The DofE is the world’s leading youth achievement award, giving 14 to 24-year-olds the opportunity to be the very best they can be.

YG is one of the only charities in the South West able to deliver this award and a pilot group of 10-12 disadvantaged young people, who’ve never had the opportunity, motivation or finances, is currently being recruited.

We'd like to offer the award free to these young people, some of the County's most-disadvantaged.  They will have to commit to volunteer placements in their community, to get fitter and to learn new skills before planning and taking on their own expedition in order to gain this nationally-recognised award.  

Donations are needed for registration fees, transport and for kit and equipment - walking boots/trail-running shoes, rucksacks, sleep mats, waterproofs and head torches - all out-of-reach for this group of young people.
