I will be running 4 marathons in 4 days in April.  Each individual marathon encourages the 3 new Music Man sites to promote their specific event and attract their own supporters base. However, all 4 marathons together is my way to try and raise funds for as many of Southend Mencap’s own projects and activities as possible in one go. I will start each run at 9am at each Music Man Project branch’s location (East Sussex, Kent, Maldon and then Southend) and then proceed to do 4 loops of 6.55 miles to make the marathon distance of 26.2 miles at each location. Each MMP site will then deliver their own concert and raise their own funds from their own members and supporters.

This is a fundraiser with a bit of a difference, though, as whereas in previous fundraisers, all monies raised has come into Southend Mencap and we have chosen where those funds went to support.  This time the choice on every donation and sponsorship made is with each and every individual who wishes to support this fundraiser.  So when you make your donation, please tell me in your message which of Southend Mencap's activities you want your donation to support.  It could be our Family Play & Respite Club for children or our MODS drama group, you may want to support our Advocacy service or even our soon to open new coffee/bookshop 'The Novel Coffeeshop'.  

Every person supporting this fundraiser is very much appreciated by me and so I want to give you all the control on where your donation will go within the society and who it is to support.

Also, for the 4th and final marathon on Sunday 15th April, which takes place around parts of Southend, Eastwood and Rochford, I am looking for fellow runners to come and run with me during one of the 6.55 mile loops.
