Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As you all know me, there's little point in going into my history.  Suffice to say, I'm pleased to be here celebrating my 60th with all of you after Encephalitis 14 and half years ago.  I initially got in touch with the Encephalitis Society and Elaine Dowell, the founder, was my rock and supported not just me but the whole family (for more information on Encephalitis please go to www.encephalitis.info).   Andy has been my rock and soul mate throughout - with the difficulties encephalitis causes, believe me it wasn't easy at times for Andy either!  David and Christopher have been amazing and got on with their lives despite everything - David got engaged to Sophie at Christmas and Christopher is with Charlotte.  As with all brain injuries, memory, autoimmune etc, friends have come and gone, but all of you have stayed with us and we thank you for that!

I have chosen Headway as it's close to my heart, they supported me/us when we first moved from Hull and also because of the diversity of brain injuries they cover.

By making a donation to Headway Preston & Chorley - you will be helping to support those affected by a brain injury, their families and carers. Headway Preston & Chorley provides information, support, drop in services, art classes etc, all of which are so vitally needed.

This birthday, please give me an extra reason to celebrate. Thank you!
