As a mixture of 16 and 17 year olds, and part of Bristol City Football Club, we have taken part in a government funded scheme called National Citizen Service. This has given us the independence to organise and participate in our own charitable fundraising event.
We chose Penny Brohn Cancer Care as our chosen charity, as its affected us all either directly or indirectly. We all feel passionately about this charity. We are extremely motivated to carry out our challenges. We feel that the charity deserves all the help it can get, as it does a wonderful job for cancer sufferers around the south west.
We split our group into 2 separate events. One being a 12 hour football match, with special guest that is Bristol City legend Scott Murray. They will follow this challenging event with a 12 hour gym sessions, where they will be attempting to achieve a goal of 1 million kilos/meters.
Our other challenge is a rather demanding cycle from Ashton Gate stadium, to Cardiff City's stadium, then followed by the Millenium Stadium; and finally by no means least, all the way home. This has raised a few eyebrows within our group, and hope to have the same effect towards you.
