Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

Well here goes. The London Marathon. Training is is full swing and my whole body knows it! This is something I've wanted to do for a long time but circumstances (not excuses!) have delayed it until now...

A miscarriage is the loss of a pregnancy at any point up to 24 weeks of gestation. 1 in every 4 pregnancies ends in miscarriage. That's around 250,000 each year in the UK.

Some of you will know why I chose to run for this charity and some will not. I had two miscarriages, losing 3 babies before my two children, Emma and Ben, were born. The miscarriages in September 2003 and  January 2004 came as a total shock and were tough times for Steve and I. Miscarriages are so common but you don't really think about it until it happens to you or someone close. So you don't think it'll happen to you. Everyone deals with the experience differently and I sought the help and advice from the Miscarriage Association. Their support helped me in a way no one else could and now I want to give something back so they can continue to help others affected by miscarriage in the future.

Thanks for helping me to help them.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Miscarriage Association gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So, go on, sponsor me now!

UPDATE -  UPDATE -  UPDATE -  UPDATE -  UPDATE -  UPDATE -

01/06/09 - Well I did it and it was a day to remember forever. A goal I hoped I'd acheive one day and wow! I did it. It was so hot on the big day, too hot for very pale skinned me, and my injury didn't play up too much. I did it in 5 hours 23 minutes. So now I want to beat that time!! Oh no, I'm hooked!

A milion thank yous to all who supported and sponsored me. I never knew I had so many wonderful friends to call on! My charity appreciates all the donantions. At the Miscarriage Association every penny is badly needed. They are a small close knit charity who will go on to help women and their families the way they helped me deal with miscarriage. You're all great! Thank you!
