We fight for a world without iron overload to prevent serious illness and save lives

Story

Hi all!

Big thanks for visiting my page and considering a donation :-)

I have been lucky enough to have bagged a place in the UK's most iconic Half Marathon next Sunday 8th September, so naturally I will dress as a squid in the hope that my effort will be appreciated enough to raise some money in doing so.

I have also been lucky enough to have been diagnosed with Iron Overload in my twenties.  Once treated initially, having the condition is low impact; managed and monitored just by frequent blood letting (running helps relieve symptoms too!).  But the issue is people don't know about it, and it can kill if not dealt with until the age of forty and up.

I want to raise money for Haemochromatosis UK, who are working really hard to support and educate families, doctors, and policy makers in the symptoms and risks so that it stops being missed, or misdiagnosed.

Please help me to support Haemochromatosis UK.

Thanks again.

Clare
