THE 'BIG' IDEA
So.. In October 2014, Lee Jones and Steve Farr are going to have a crack at hiking/walking/climbing/falling up and down Kilimanjaro for a bit in Tanzania, Africa!
SOME FACTUAL INFORMATION
Here's some info on Kilimanjaro (The family shouldn’t read this bit); Kilimanjaro is the HIGHEST mountain in Africa, and the highest free-standing mountain in the world at 5,895 metres or 19,341 feet above sea level at the Uhuru Peak (where we are aiming to reach) Basically it's REALLY high up and altitude sickness can be a bit nasty!!
PEICE OF CAKE!!!!!
OUR REASONS
We have undertaken this as not only a personal challenge but also to raise awareness and as much money as possible through the support of all you lovely people for The Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice which offers Specialist Palliative Care to adults facing the end of their life and to those who love and care for them. Please see their website address below:
Our inspiration for doing the climb stems from us both losing family members to Cancer and more recently Lee's nan Mary passing away.
PLEASE GIVE GENEROUSLY - ANYONE DONATING OVER £20 (PLUS GIFT AID) WILL BE ENTITLED TO A FREE PINT! PERKS OF HAVING THE PUB! THANK YOU!
We will also be hosting a range of events at The Red Lion in Aldershot - including Live Bands / Disco's / Karaoke nights / Race Nights / Family Days & of course our famous RED LION MUSIC FESTIVAL on Saturday 23 August 2014! Please make sure you click the "keep me updated" bit to be kept up to date with us!
The work the nurses have done for our families as well as so many others means so much! Thank you for taking your time to visit the page! We very much appreciate your support. Wish us luck!
