On behalf of Climbers Against Cancer  (CAC) 11 Sheffield climbers are putting down their chalk bags and climbing boots to pick up a pair of runners and take on the Sheffield Half Marathon to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

 

CAC has been created by the inspirational John Ellison. John is Parent Representative for the Junior GB Climbing Team so has always been driven to put others interests and well-being ahead of his own. Find out more at the CAC website http://www.climbersagainstcancer.org 

 

Last October John was diagnosed with terminal cancer; with his awe-inspiring motivation and determination led him to raise over £17,500 for Cancer Research UK http://www.justgiving.com/John-Ellison-CR and founding the organisation Climbers Against Cancer.

 

CAC aims to help people around the world who are fighting against adversity, no matter what their circumstances. John has been fundraising and promoting CAC all across the globe. From Spanish crags to the Ulvetanna basecamp, Antarctica and The UIAA Ice Climbing World Cup in Saas Fee, Switzerland. John has been raising awareness and gaining support from some of the Climbing scenes biggest names, such as Chris Sharma, Adam Ondra, Mina Leslie-Wujastyk, Shauna Coxsey and many many more!
