Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As a proud Welsh man I look forward to seeing my national team compete in the Six Nations Tournament. This year is no different, except for one small change... I will be wearing an England Rugby Shirt!
I've decided to take this (what some might say - including myself!) crazy wardrobe decision in order to raise funds and awareness for Blind Veterans UK, a charity that has helped me since I lost my own sight while serving in the Army in 2000. Blind Veterans UK offers support, rehabilitation and training to over 4,000 veterans like me and having them there to help is life changing.
I will be pulling on my England Shirt to watch every game scheduled in this 6 week tournament. I've set a target of £1500 in order to make the teasing I will inevitable receive from friends, family and other pub-goers where I will be watching the games worth while.
To make this challenge even harder I will also be doing two other challenges at the same time;
1) During the Wales and England Match I have taken a vow of silence in exchange for donations.
2) I shan't be able to drown my sorrows and shame - I've set a dry challenge to run the whole of the tournament (with the exception of St David's Day - A man has his limits!!!!)
I will be making regular updates as to how my challenge is going on Facebook and these updates will be shared on the group page Blind Veterans UK Wales.
