Story

Jack tragically died at Glastonbury and in his memory we are raising funds for a charity which was close to him - The Richard Burns Foundation.

Jack being a mechanic had a keen interest in motor sport.  A regular at the Goodwood Revival Meeting - this year would have been his 11th visit, and finally time to take along the fully restored 1955 Sunbeam which had been in the Crabtree family since 1957.

Jack was planning to buy a Subaru as his next car and he would have supported the Richard Burns Foundation in their work with brain injury and illness - as a close friend of the family has a brain tumour.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

The Richard Burns Foundation was formed in 2006 following the death of 2001 World Rally Champion Richard Burns. Richard was diagnosed with an Astrocytoma, a form of brain tumour, in 2003 and after a 2 year battle with the disease he died exactly 4 years to the day after winning the championship, aged just 34. Richard was England’s first World Rally Champion and alongside his co-driver, Robert Reid, notched up an impressive 10 WRC victories. The foundation is supporting Richard's Consultant Peter Hamlyn (who trained under Sid Watkins) and his Brain & Spine Foundation. Brain & Spine Foundation offer neurological support, medical attention and information to build awareness of conditions.

About the charity

The Richard Burns Foundation was created following the death of Richard Burns, the 2001 FIA World Rally Champion, from an astrocytoma, a form of brain tumour, in November 2005. The Foundation's mission is to support people with brain injury and illness.
