    Story

'Kingston Aquatic Sports Academy, is not just about competitions and medals, it is also about 'Changing Lives Through Sport', providing opportunities for learning and work, improving the environment and improving the tourist experience in Kingston...' Leon McNeil, President of the new Jamaican Kayak and Canoe Federation

This is the vision which gave Tony Greyson-Newman the inspiration and drive to kayak 14 Rivers in 7 days across Jamaica, to raise money for Kingston Aquatic Sports Academy (KASA). This was the first time something like this had ever been done!

Tony successfully completed the challenge on the 11th March 2017, raising £1076 in online and offline donations. There is now also a competition kayak (in the picture) and surf ski on the island which can be used! The money will help pay for material and someone locally to make 2 more kayaks and take another step towards sprint kayaking, kayak tours and a river race in 2019, in Jamaica!

The academy will be the first of its kind on the island and offer competition kayaking and canoeing to start with. The plan is also to create other academy's on Jamaica's rivers, partner with international clubs across the world and expand the activities offered.

Tony is continuing to fundraise for KASA as it still needs

    6 kayaks,
    1 canoe,
    8 paddles,
    7 buoyancy aids,
    2 kayak machines,

This is to introduce a proper kayak and canoe program to schools and communities.
