Recently, 1st Nailsworth Guides had their camp store broken into and unfortunately, a number of expensive tents were taken. Camping is something that has always been important to Nailsworth Guides and we try to arange a camp every year. Camping enables the girls to spend time outside, have new experiences and most importantly, have fun. However, due to the actions of some mindless members of our community, this years camp may be unable to go ahead. We have booked to go to Dorset so we can visit Brownsea island, which is where the first Scout camp took place. However, without the camping equipment we may be unable to go. The camping equipment is insured, although it is unlikely the claim would be resolved before we leave. Also, putting in a cleam would make next years premiums too expensive for us to afford as a voluntary organisation.

It would be extremely hard for us to let the girls down by telling them we are now unable to go on camp. However, we are all volunteers and Girlguiding is a registered charity which means funds are always limited. Therefore, when we mentioned this on the Nailsworth Facebook page and recieved an outpooring of support for the cause, and after following the advice of people in the community we have decided to set up this Just Giving page. We are so greatful to everybody that is able to offer a donation, no matter how small and we will do everything we can to repay the community in some way.
