1st Papworth Beaver Colony, based in Papworth Everard, have been running since September 2017. We have 20 boys and girls between 5 3/4 and 8 years old who attend an hour long meeting once a week.

As our first fundraising event, we have decided to complete an hour long Skipathon to raise money for the British Heart Foundation. Having such a famous heart and lung hospital in our village and members of our Colony who have heart conditions, it seemed the natural charity to raise money for.

Between January and February, our members will be practising their skipping skills every week in preparation for the event, which takes place on Wednesday 14 March 2017.

In accordance with the British Heart Foundation guidelines, 80% of the funds raised from the Skipathon will be donated to them. 20% will be retained by the Beaver Colony to benefit our growing group further. The British Heart Foundation have provided us with a range of skipping ropes for the event, which we are able to keep. We intend to donate some of these to the village Primary School, Pendragon Community School.
