This is the second crowd funding page I have made having already hit the first target of £2017 earlier this week.
If you haven't heard already I am intending to run 2017 miles in 2017 to raise money for these fantastic causes, it means I have to run at least 5.5 miles daily. I'm at day 107 and I've run 6 miles consecutively since January 1st 2017...642 miles. I get out early most mornings and run along the Wickham Railway line. It has been difficult on occasions but usually it's an enjoyable and active way to start my day.
I chose to do this to support Felix Barrow and his family, a family known to me as Felix attended the school where I work.
Felix Barrow was knocked down by a car outside his home in October 2015. He was flown to Southampton General Hospital by the Hampshire and IOW Air Ambulance, and placed into a medically induced coma. Among his many injuries, Felix suffered a traumatic brain injury, which was severe and potentially life-limiting.
In the care of the amazing staff at Southampton General Hospital Peadatric Intensive Care Unit, Felix made remarkable progress in his determination to walk again. Fit for Felix was set up to help pay for the day-to day care that Felix requires now he has left hospital-including physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, speech therapy, counselling, and the likely modifications to the family home.
Alas you can read it most certainly is a worthwhile cause. Thank you for taking the time to read this and I hugely welcome any support you are able to give.
