This year the Guernsey Yacht Club Juniors are organising a 24-Hour sail, with the help of the Guernsey Sailing Trust.

2018 is a big year for the GST as this year they will be celebrating their 30th anniversary and the GYC Juniors are hoping to help raise money for this occasion. The GST have been working towards raising enough money to replace some of their old and worn pond dinghies, so we would like to raise enough money to be able buy a single new oppie for them. This will allow the Trust to continue in providing the opportunity for both children and adults to be able to experience the sport of sailing where they may not be able to do otherwise.

As the GYC Juniors, we would like to be able to give back to the Yacht Club and its sailors by raising enough money to buy £1,000 worth of equipment for the club laser dinghy, as the boat is old and some of the kit has broken so anyone who sails this would be greatly benefitted. This boat would be donated to a family, chosen by the sailing coaches, for one season which will allow them to progress in their sailing and give them an opportunity to try sailing this class of boat before buying their own.

To help raising this money we will be running a 24-HOUR SAIL on the 15th AND 16th JUNE 2018. There are going to be set times for different events to be run during this 24 hour period, so keep up to date on our Facebook page, if you want to come down and join in we have slots from newbie sessions to corporate and private sessions which can be booked by contacting Eloise Tanguy.
