Story
Myself (Gabriella) and my lovely friend Zoe have decided to take on the challenge of attempting 24 different wild swims/dips across the Lake District on 24th September 2024, to raise money for the Duddon and Furness Mountain Rescue Team.
This is a cause that is, of course, very close to my heart due to spending the majority of my free time in the Lake District wild swimming and hiking. We decided on the Duddon and Furness division due to the fact they are the only Cumbrian Mountain Rescue without a purpose built base. They have recently purchased land but still require considerable funding to make this base fit for purpose. The team are all volunteers and do an absolutely amazing job of ensuring we are safe whilst enjoying this beautiful place so it felt right that, whilst enjoying the thrill of the challenge, we gave something back to the people who help keep us safe!
The challenge will be spread across a large area of the southern and eastern Lake District and we will add a map of our chosen locations should anyone wish to join us or support us with this challenge!
Once we have completed our challenge and (hopefully) hit our fundraising target,
the funds with transferred directly to the bank account for DFMRT to ensure all of the money raised goes towards this cause.
Thank you in advance for your support and help raising money for such a wonderful cause!
Love Gabriella and Zoe
