Weʼve raised £105 to The kitchen facilities at 2nd Southwick Scout Group, which are used by approx. 60 youths aged 6-14yrs., are badly in need of refurbishment

Funded on Wednesday, 4th March 2020

    Story

The facilities at the 2nd Southwick Group HQ are not only used regularly by the numerous members of the group, but are also used by other local Scouting Groups, and other local Community Groups for various activities, including the use of our indoor climbing wall which is very popular with all age groups.

It has become more and more apparent that the Group now needs to provide a more safe and hygienic area for the many people who use it.

One of our current concerns is the condition of the kitchen which is long overdue for updating given the usage it has and the varying age range of the people who have access to it. The floor is very uneven and requires replacing. There is insufficient cupboard space which results in the worktops being used for storage. We hope to alleviate this by changing the layout and installing new work units and work tops (a detailed estimate for this upgrade is included as part of this application).

Whilst we have a very active programme of fundraising there is only a limited amount of funds we can achieve via the community.

We have currently raised just in excess of £500 toward the estimated cost of the refurbishment and we hope to raise a similar amount throughout the forthcoming year, but we realise that it will take a time to raise the full amount of funds required to complete this badly needed project.

Any help you can provide to support this venture would be very much appreciated.

Please spread the word to all your friends and colleagues, then get them to pass this to their friends and colleagues and lets get this bus in motion. The target is very much achievable if everyone does their best to make it happen. Thanks in anticipation for your efforts. Geoff

This should pay for a couple of bottles of Fairy Liquid and some tea-towels! Hope the target is reached.
