On my 38th birthday this year i decided that I needed to change myself. I needed to change the way I use my time, the way I use my body and the way I use my brain.
I have decide to do this by challenging myself both physically and mentally. I decided to challenge myself to do 40 different challenges by the time I am 40 years old. These will range from marathons, triathlons, sky dives, ironman etc. all of which will challenge my body physically. The mental challenge comes from actually getting out and doing the training and events.
To coincide with these challenges I have decide to raise money for a number of different charities, 40 to be exact. The aim is to help as many different people as possible by donating money to these charities. By raising a minimum of £4000 this means i will be giving a minimum of £100 to each charity i would like to raise a lot more than this but i have set the amount to raise at a realistic level the ti will increase once we reach each target.
The charities that we are raising money for as follows; (In no particular order)
Severn Hospice, Guide Dogs for the Blind, Lingen Davies Cancer Fund, Stroke Association, RSPCA, Dogs Trust, Hope House, Orchid (Fighting Male Cancers), Pancreatic Cancer, Alzheimer's Society, Shropshire Air Ambulance, Birmingham Childrens Hospital, Team Isaac, MS Society, Down Syndrome Association, West Mercia Search and Rescue, Hilbrae Rescue Kennels, Shropshire Mind, Shropshire Grey Hound Rescue, Epilepsy Action, Shrewsbury Ark, SaTH, Cancer Research UK, Macmillan Cancer Support, RNLI, NSPCC, Children in Need, Stand up to Cancer, Marie Curie Cancer Care, Great Ormand Street Hospital, Children with Cancer, Battersea Dogs Home, Breast Cancer Care, Grinshill Animal Rescue, National Autistic Society, Charlies Chance, League of Friends (Royal Shrewsbury Hospital), Parkinson's, RNIB, Prostate Cancer.
As you can see we have chosen some charities that are national, some that are local and some that mean a lot to me. We are just finalising the last few of the 40 challenges that i am doing so hopefully you will see the work i am aiming to do to raise money for these great causes.
