    Story

    This is Samuel
    He cannot walk
    He cannot talk
He has the body of a teenager
But the mind of a toddler
I don't know if he will live or die
So I try and help him live each day
As a happy, healthy and safe young man
My own health is failing me
But for Samuel, I will not fail.
All his life I have fought for him
As he cannot fight for himself
And now I have to fight for his rights.
I have dedicated my life to helping others
    Without a thought for myself
Pride keeps me far from that road
But now I must face my pride and push it aside
And for that I need your help.

I have to raise £1000 by the middle of August or for the first time in 13 years, Samuel will not be able to go to Brainwave.

Then, I need to rearrange the house so Samuel has enough room to be safe and comfortable. At the moment, it is even a struggle to get a stretcher in his room in case of emergencies!

I can't stand for long but there is no room for a chair so I can sit by his bedside when he needs me there. I would like to give him room for basic furniture so I can put things away to prevent accidents and things getting lost. I would like some shelves for his beloved books and one for the machine that helps him breathe. You see vast estates being built everywhere yet all I want is a more suitable home so my son can be safe and comfortable. He can't get up the stairs so he has a room downstairs but even in the hot weather, I can't leave a window open for him as it isn't safe enough. I raised the funds to have his bedroom made into a sensory room but it's so cluttered that he can't really use it properly. He is learning how to crawl again which would give him a little independence and would be great physiotherapy but his room is so small that he would have to learn to crawl on the spot! His wetroom doubles as a downstairs loo but as that has no windows, it has to have a fan that comes on whenever the light is on. The noise of it wakes Samuel up but I have no other choice.

      Update from the Page owner

Many thanks for all the support and kind donations. The page has now closed. I will be posting the final figure raised (minus the crowdfunding fees) as soon as I am notified. In the meantime, I realise there are still donations coming in so I will be producing a new page in the next day or so they can still be accepted. We are so grateful for all the support, Facebook sharing, Twitter tweets etc and you are all forever in our hearts. Please tag yourself in this photo if you wish to be kept informed about 4 Steps For Samuel in the future.

We cannot thank you all enough for helping us reach our first target of £1000! You are all guardian angels and your kindness and generosity is beyond measure. We are now increasing our target to £2500 so we can start raising for next year's Brainwave therapy and also to contribute towards Samuel's new room when it is adapted later in the year. Spread the word, share, tweet and shout from the highest mountain and above all, remember that this is all for someone amazing FOR SAMUEL 💙

Only 11 days to go to raise £300 and successfully reach our first target. If all my Facebook friends and Twitter followers were to donate just £5 each, not only would we smash that target, but we would be well on our way to raising enough for Samuel's trip to Brainwave in February as well!! Come on folks, let's do this, for Samuel xx

All I want is to be able to provide a safe and comfortable home for my son. I had to give up the job that I loved to become his carer but as I have got older, my own health has been suffering and I now find myself in the position that I have no choice but to ask for help.
