My name is Ula Howlett and I am a Mum to a Boy Cubs Scout - here on the picture with the 9th Bracknell Cubs Leaders: Akela (David), Sheer Kan (Sam), Bagheera (Paul) and Ian.

I used to be a Girl Guide back in Poland where I grew up, however left Scouts organization at the age of 18 with the hope, that one day, when I have my own children, I will have a chance to re-join.

Having spent the last Cubs camp with 9th Bracknell Cubs, I made a decision to become a Leader myself and support the group as much as I can.

When Ian came to me with the words.. 'I am thinking of entering a running race so we could gather the funds for the new boiler for the scouts hut' - my only response was - 'If you can cope with the Half Marathon distance, join me for Burnham Beeches race on the 13th August and let's do it together!'

This is our story and I hope that you will find it appealing enough, to help us sponsor a new boiler, so in the upcoming winter months, our children can continue learning and having even more fun as part of the Scouts organization! :)
